It's back ... but with a new focus on design and application. Using handmade brick - laid bedside out, conventional style, or in combination - is the rebirth of an old product that has captured Olde World Charm in many new and existing homes, fireplaces, mantels, patios and business/commercial establishments.

After many years of designing homes and fireplaces using conventional methods with brick and other building materials, I began laying the brick bedside out and soon discovered that I could recreate that European Style which existed Once Upon a Time and had been lost from the home and fireplace design world for so many years.

Bricks Created with a Personal Touch

Handmade bricks are created by hand. Each brick is hand molded in the colonial tradition. They have been used on a number of historical restorations in the US. Some include Monticello, Williamsburg, Mount Vernon and Charleston.

Handmade bricks are poured into a molding bed. They are then fired and set. By turning the bricks bedside out, you can create a new look that's classic and captures the romance and history of colonial America or the Old World Charm of Europe in the middle ages.

After an extended stay in Europe, and rediscovering that "Olde World Charm", I began experimenting with the use of color, size, brick laying methods and unique brick designs.

Combining bedside and conventional methods of laying brick has opened up a whole world of new handmade brick design for: signature fireplaces • custom fireplace mantels • patios/walkways • exterior makeovers of existing homes • new, custom signature homes.

This unique change in style has given both residential and commercial markets a new way of expressing their creativity and uniqueness.

From malls, high-end residential construction, golf course club houses, and subdivision entry signs, to exterior home makeovers, fireplaces, mantels and patios, this unique design method has truly captured "Olde World Charm" that many people today are looking for.
